Annual Banquet

At the Chamber's Annual Banquet event, the incoming Chamber Chair of the Board officially receives the gavel from the outgoing Chair. The Program of Work is introduced and Committee Chairs are recognized. Past guest speakers have included Wally Amos, Rocky Blier, Dawn Wells, Sparky Anderson, Tony Schiller, and most recently Dick Beardsley. Watch for details on next year's program.

Community Champions Luncheon: This award luncheon proudly recognizes the recipients of the following awards presented by the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce:

Athena Award:
In 2008, the Athena Award program was co-sponsored with Steven Lust Automotive. The awards recognized individuals for business or professional accomplishments, for community service, and especially for mentoring others and being a role model for women to achieve their full leadership potential. Next year, a new award recognizing these accomplishments will be introduced. Watch for future information on this site.

George Award: The George Award is presented to an individual(s) or organization who works diligently towards a common community goal, but would never expect recognition for their efforts. They are the individual(s) who's leadership benefits the common good of a community project, development, or organization and strengthens the quality of life in the Aberdeen area. George Award winners didn't leave their work for "George," but rather had the foresight and vision to make things happen.

STAR Award: The STAR Award stands for Students Taking Action Responsibly. This award is given annually to an outstanding student service organization in the community.

And, lastly, Absolutely!Aberdeen presents the Entrepreneur of Year Award. This event is held in January of each year.

Business After Hours

The Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Business After Hours each month. It is held from 5:15 to 7:00 PM at various business locations. The event is held to encourage networking opportunities among the city's business, leadership, and employees. It is an ideal way to establish contacts and build relationships with fellow businessmen and women. Chamber members have the opportunity to be a host, or a booth sponsor at the event. These mixers attract more than 200 people and allow members to get better acquainted with your business in an informal setting. If you are interested in being a host or sponsor, contact the Chamber at (605) 225-2860 or e-mail: info@aberdeen-chamber.com.
